Indoor Cycling

Our Indoor Cycling classes are for people of all levels of fitness. It is a wonderful way to improve cardiovascular fitness, lose weight, and increase your energy. If you have never taken a class at Sky Sport Fitness than your first visit is free.  Schedule your first free class by clicking the link below.

YOUR FIRST RIDE: prepping for SKY

Hydrate: Drink, drink, drink! The key to a healthy body is staying hydrated. So be sure to have water before, during, and after your ride.

Snack: You heard it from your mom: be sure to eat a little something before you exercise. We recommend eating a light snack 30 minutes before you ride.

What to wear: If you’ve never ridden with us at SKY, we suggest sporting a tee or tank on top and form-fitting pants or shorts on the bottom.

Arrive early: Nothing’s worse than a last minute set-up! Do yourself a favor and come to the studio 15 minutes before class starts. Be sure to let us know you’re new to SKY and we’ll get you set up on the bike.

Sign in: If you signed up in advance, your name will be listed on the iPad located at the front desk. You will be asked to check the box next to your name so that we know you’re here. 

New Rider Waiver: New to SKY? We need your info. Fill out a New Rider Waiver and review the Bike Safety Instructions when you arrive. *please note, riders under 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the waiver in person!

shoes and water

Shoes: Yup, it’s true… we clip into the bike. But don’t let that scare you. Clipping in provides a more stable, safer ride and also allows our riders to target the correct muscle groups.

For your first class, you may ride in gym shoes but if you wish to continue at SKY we recommend purchasing SPD compatible cycling shoes. SKY offers the option of renting cycling shoes for $3. If you’re already a pro and you have your own cycling shoes, we recommend bringing those bad boys to every class! SPD compatible only.

Water: Trust us on this one… you’ll want some water on that bike. We have water available for sale in our studio for $1, but of course you can bring your own as well and you can fill up your bottle using our filtered water cooler.

Our bikes are simple to set up! In case you’ve never done it before, there are 3 places where you can adjust your bike:

  1. Seat height
  2. Fore/aft seat position
  3. Handlebar height

If you’re new to cycling, arrive early and ask for assistance.

SKY is a full-body workout and like any new fitness routine, you may want to chat with your doctor before your first ride. Also, if you’re new to SKY, please let us know – we are happy to answer any questions. We were all new riders at one time!

Before class, make sure to check that all bike adjustments are tight, that your cycling shoes are secure in the pedals, and that you test the brake. Our instructors are motivational leaders who will inspire you to push yourself, but please listen to your body and work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Stay hydrated, and continue to drink plenty of water after class as well. If you experience any unusual or persistent symptoms after your ride, please don’t hesitate to seek medical attention. Remember you booty will be sore for your first couple of rides. We PROMISE that pain will go away if you stick with it and you don’t wait too long between coming back to class.
